The Jones Library Media Center is the hub of the school for research and reading. The Center provides books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, online databases, and other forms of electronic resources to support the middle school curriculum and the Virginia SOL’s. Our collection of 9,000 books provide the students with great opportunities for both enrichment and improving reading skills. The 25 computers provide a place for Internet research and production of student projects using word processing, desktop publishing and multimedia software.

The Library Media Center is open on all school days from 8:49 - 3:49.

Students may check out up to three books for two weeks, with one renewal.

Overdue books need to be returned before more may be checked out.

Student agendas are required for any library transaction; the agendas are used in lieu of an issued library card.

Students normally come to the Center as part of their Language Arts classes, usually on a weekly basis, during which time they make book selections, conduct research, receive library skills instruction and technology training, and enjoy leisure reading. Teachers may allow students to visit the library anytime during the school day, using the signed agenda as their pass.

Battle of the Books Club is open to all JMMS students. Please see Ms. Bender for more information.
